Very Happy and Prosperous New Year to all!
I shall be doing the family Steamboat thing at my Mother-in-Law's place. Nowadays, it is easy to purchase Shabu Shabu style meats so I think that there will be a lot of homes doing a Shabu Shabu Steamboat fusion.
So where is everybody eating the Tuan Yuan Fan?
For this Year of the Ox, may we all have a bull-ish CNY! (I'm referring to my ang pao revenue of course! Leslie, where's mine? =p) And may the SG & world economy prosper.
ReplyDeleteReunion Dinner is at my place cus my dad is 'tua hia'. Sometimes I wished we could save the hassle and just go to a nice restaurant. Tradition can get too sticky.

me gramps all expired their mortal passports liao, save for 1 semi-conscious in the nursing home, so yup, this year is a peaceful + non-hectic affair at home. reunion dinner always at home where mom cook up a storm. i'd love steamboat dinners but the Family Dowager has no love for it, so you know liao lah. hahahaha....womanfolks rule the household!

I shall be msn-ing in on my family's steamboat tuan yuan fan on Sun and drool while they have steamboat... :( ha.
Tonight am meeting some Chinese friends of mine to make and eat jiao zi together. I resolve to learn to make them from the natives. (Especially the skin, and skill of wrapping them so they look like yuan bao! Not easy siah!)
I'll be heading to 2 places for TUAN YUAN fan! Mother side and father side. Different types of steamboat, a Teochew and a Cantonese.

It's been 1 month into this year that is new
So it is time to have this celebration that is due
Though every year is the same and nothing new
But good wishes I have received right on cue
The New Year is here to challenge me
