Hokkien Mee is Singapore's Favourite Hawker Dish!
Hokkien Mee has emerged as Singapore's Favourite Hawker dish! Of the 3898 readers who voted, 38.8% voted Hokkien Mee as their favourite dish followed closely by Chicken Rice with 35.5% of votes. Chicken Rice was initially the top favourite during the nomination round, but Hokkien Mee emerged early in the polls as the clear favourite. Bak Chor Mee was a distant third at 31.4%.

Perhaps have a listing of top 10 Hokkein mee in Singapore, organise a makan trip to taste them all and cast vote at the end of the journey.....Wah sounds like a mouthful....
I would definitely recommend Nam Sing Hokkien Fried Mee @ Old Airport Road Hawker Centre. Best of all....
Nam Sing is quite unique. not oily, no lard, no chilli paste almost like a 'cheng' hokkein mee
Please do go to Block 28 Hoy Fatt Road to try their Chicken Rice (I forgot the store's name). It's priced at $2 and there's always a snaking queue. Also, do try the Nasi Padang store there as well. It's rated "Divine" by Makansutra, and it sure is! These two stores are in the same coffeeshop, the one facing the HDB flats.
i think prawn noodles should have been included. would have been top of my list followed by hokkien mee.
I've so glad Hokkien Mee came in 1st. I like SCS Butter's suggestion of having a Hokkien Mee trail. I'll be one of the first to sign up for that!
My favourite is laksa, but it was not on the list....
it's kim's hokkien mee for me. i need the lard. it doesn't help my health that my dad buys so often there that the old man lets him scoop our own portion of lard.
Come Daily Hokkien Fried mee (Tian Tian Lai) at Toa Payoh is good!!!

Well, I am looking for a place that is good and mid range in a nice cosy resturant. Ranging from $10 - $25 per pax. Do you have any recommendation that you might be able to tell?
This post has brought up fond memories of my parents ta-baoing Hokkien Mee wrapped in or-pek leaf..I know some stalls now still practice this but somehow..that of my childhood just seems more "pang"..the or-pek leaf was really a big piece ..still remember the scent steaming up when the package was unwrapped ..Thanks for the post Leslie, good job ! : )
