My Quote in Today Weekend Article: A Man's Place is in the Kitchen

I was asked by Today to provide a few thoughts on men who cook which was published in last weekend's Today paper.

These were the questions that I was asked:

  1. What do you think of men who wear the aprons at home?
  2. Who does the cooking in your household, and why?
  3. How does the ability to cook enhance a man's appeal to the opposite sex?
My answers were:
  1. An apron is to men what a French Maid's uniform is to women. Its rather sexy don't you think? Especially if it is ONLY the apron...... But seriously, I think most women appreciate a well domesticated man.
  2. I'm pretty fussy about food, my wife is more chin chai, so I do the cooking since there will be less quarreling that way. Besides the person who does not cook gets to wash up and I don't like washing up.
  3. I was told that one of the things women want in a relationship is security. If the guy can cook, she'll never have to worry about being hungry. Even in an economic downturn, a few eggs, flour and chopped up vegetables can be transformed into a pretty mean Okonomiaki!

How would you all have answered those questions?

Hiya Leslie...drop by here thru' Wendy and it's cool here :D

Since I am a woman so I would answer the questions based on my perspective ;)

1) I think my hubby would look sexy if he dons on an apron, cool chef :D

2) Weekdays is my mom-in-law so I'll cook over the weekend and it would be a completely 'affairs' - more spicy & hot.

3) Still, when a man cooks, it definitely enhance the appeal to us as we felt the love & warmth through the food they cooked for us kekeke...

Have a nice day Leslie :D

1. Practical AND fashionable--but there'd better not be any flowers or hearts on my apron!
2. My older brother, whenever he's in. He's the only one who doesn't need to follow recipes exactly.
3. Competency is extremely attractive. Being able to do something essential--cooking, navigating, building--with apparent ease is quite a turn-on for women.
