Bugis Street Beef Kuay Teow - Lavender FC

Why do they always put a picture of a happy cow on the signboard. This is a BEEF kway teow stall and the cow should be the least happy of all.

Anyway this is a second generation stall. The stallowner's father started this Beef Kway Teow in Bugis Street and they moved over here about 8 years ago. The stallowners are very friendly and modest and I am sure you won't get any of that "Dao" attitude if you have special requests.

The soup here is robust with slight tinge of herbs. Drink it hot and its a sure cure for a hazy day. The meat is not overcooked and tender. I especially like the cooked beef which had a nice beefy taste to it. The tendons could be a little softer and more gooey.

4/5 Good Beef Kway Teow, as good as the famous one at Purvis Street everyone talks about.

Closed alternate Wednesdays

This is my fav beef noodles store. I love the dry version & their chili! Unfortunately, I don't eat spare parts (with the exception of Foie Gras) & so I can't comment on the tendons. However, I like the tender beef slices especially when smothered with chili! :)

BTW, dun mind being an assistant taster. :)

The Purvis street Hock Lam Beef noodles is overrated. Their branch at China Square also leaves much to be desired.

Measly portion for $5.

Hi darren,

For your info, the one at china sq is not related to the one at purvis st. purvis st. is a poor imitation.

Maybe you should try the beef kway teow at Laguna Park condominium. This stall is run by a Hainanese lady called Lucy. She had a nice version.

The Pervis stall is related to the China Town stall. Both are brothers but had family dispute, as reported in the News. The one at Laguna Condo is called Ghim Moh and serve good beef soup and other delicious dishes.I like their fried Beef horfun, had wok hei flavour/taste. It is a Restaurant.

One stall that i visit on a regular basis. Due to my regular visit, the lady stall owner can remember my usual order! Tell u what, the gravy of the dry version tastes as good as any other sauce. I'm sure it tastes as good on rice too! Drink the soup while its hot, definitely will warm you during rainy days. Try it!
