The Recent Comments Feature

My sincere thanks to everyone who has commented in this blog. I get very encouraged by all your comments, whether positive or negative.

You probably have noticed by now that there is a new feature on the right hand side of the blog called Recent Comments. I added this feature because I realised that in the past, only I knew who has been commenting on my blog! But now, with the help of this feature, whenever you make a comment, anyone who is reading the blog will know!

The Comments Feature is important because it gives other readers a more balanced review of the featured food. As they say, taste is very subjective, so by giving your comments, you are adding to the strength of the review.

I know for a fact that there are many unknown makan experts out there, having met many during my last 3 months of blogging. If you are a reader of ieatishootipost, may I encourage you to give your comments under a pen name. After a while, people will begin to associate your pen name with the strength of your reviews. In this way you can use the blog as your own platform to share with others your makan knowledge! I certainly won't mind seeing our very own version of a Simon Cowell on the blog!!

The other wonderful thing about the recent comments feature is that it resurrects some of the older blogs for discussion. This is good for newer readers who might have missed some of the really good early stuff!

I have left the comments opened to everyone because I feel that by restricting it to registered users will stifle free speech. You are most welcomed to give your honest opinion on the food! The only comments I will delete are those which are irrelevant or uses too many expletives. This IS a G Rated blog afterall!

Indian cuisine gaining popularity over the Lunar New Year-Monday February 19, 12:17 PM

It may be the Chinese New Year but it looked like Indian food was quickly gaining popularity as a festive dish, as some people seemed to prefer their food to be hot and spicy during the Lunar New Year period.
Brindas Indian fast food joint said their business had increased threefold on the first day of the festivities.

To prepare for the demand, it had ordered more food and activated 10 more staff to work during the next few days.

Some patrons of the restaurant said they chose Indian cuisine as a change after feasting on Chinese food during the reunion dinner, while others chose such Indian delicacy since most Chinese food establishments were closed on the first day of the Lunar New Year.

The restaurant also said that many home delivery orders kept them busy late into Saturday night.

When asked why Indian food was creeping into the menu for reunion dinners, Malathi Ramasamy, co-founder of Brindas explained, "There's a lot of fusion reunion dinners. They just don't want to have boring Chinese cuisine all the time. So, they want to have a bit of mixture. In fact, even last year the trend started and this year it has been more."

Business was also good for the hawkers at the Adam Road Food Centre as those who had remained open for the Lunar New Year were expecting a bigger piece of the business since the Chinese food stalls were closed

There's one along Upper Changi ROad (Bedok South) just opposite the Bedok stadium. I think the block number is 54 if not wrong. There are 2 coffee shops facing Upper Changi Road. It is in the newly renovated one

A: Who cares about the last meal? There is a heavenly banquet prepared for me on the other side which would be make all the Matsuzaka beef on this earth taste like bad vegetarian bee hoon.

Need ur help! I wld like to treat my family to a sumptuous lunch to celebrate my son 1 yr birthday next month. Do u have any suggestion of a good rest in the EAST side. (Chinese or close to chinese food will be good)
N oso where to get nice cake. I tried tiramisutra but they dun really like it...

i really enjoy your blog, and it makes great reading. Always enough to get me hungry...

Have you ever tried Sinma restaurant at Geylang Lor 3 (it has a huge crab in neon lights hanging on the side of the shophouse). The crab tanghoon is to die for. Would be great to see a review on that.
