No Name Hokkien Mee: Dunman Food Centre

With Holydrummer and iwatch_ueat

Another day another Hokkien Mee. It seems that there are so many HKMs around which are pretty good nowadays. Certainly much more good HKMs than Wanton Mees where so few really come to mind. This blog alone already has 8 other worthy mentionable HKMs and most of them found in the east. I really don't need to travel very far to fulfill my HKM crave. Now if only one of them can just up the standard a bit and make a lobster HKM with Sio Bak simmering in a claypot......ooohhh.

This HKM is pretty shiok. The gravy is the dark brown type and it is pretty wet. A spoonful of savoury, soggy noodles with crispy pork lard on top (for those who do not have to battle with cholesterol problems) is a tantalizing taste that is hard to beat. 4.25/5

Conclusion

Another great place for a late night plate of HKM.

Brenda, a bit hard when you don't provide the details of the stall. Anonymous, do click "other" and give yourself a pen name. The rojak Akan Datang

tried the HKM this afternoon.

really a wasted trip. wonder how u can grade this stall a 4.25?

really no way can it come near the old airport rd Nam Sing. IMHO, a 3.5 would be more appropriate.

Noodle to dry, no prawn taste, tried 2 mouth and stop eating, like u say, dun waste calories

Cannot make it. Utter waste of time and calories. Enuff said.

Yes, I have to agree with you. My last visit there which was 3 weeks ago, the standard dropped tremendously.

Problem is food bloggers cannot control the standards of the food over time. They can only tell you based on the plate they tried.

Similarly, a place can be written off only to have a complete makeover and improve beyond recognition.

yup, i agree.

That's why it's good that we can constantly post comments here to update others what we think of the food.
