Selera Rasa Nasi Lemak: At Last! A Nasi Lemak with Good Rice!

At last!!! A Nasi Lemak that is really shiok! This Nasi Lemak is so Shiok that I was told the Sultan of Brunei Tar Paus it back to the Embassy when he comes to visit Singapore! (Why doesn't he just buy over the stall and set it up at the embassy? He got Michael Jackson to come sing him Happy Birthday didn't he?)

Check out the rice in this place. This is the first time I am eating Nasi Lemak made with Basmati Rice! The Basmati Rice gives it a lighter texture, better flavour and the grains are beautifully separated. It is better for Diabetics too since it has got a lower glycaemic index (it does not cause the sugar levels to raise as quickly as jasmine rice). The Sambal Tumis is equally shiok and you should not miss the Sambal Cuttlefish which they offer as an optional side dish.

Conclusion

Currently the best Nasi Lemak I have tasted so far! (Halal version) 4.5/5

Selera Rasa (Adam Road No.1)
No 2 Adam Road Food Centre

its one of the better nasi lemak that I have had, I like my chilli hot and not too sweet, theirs is not too bad, I like the cuttlefish in chilli too, there are better chicken wings I tasted..if they can improve on that..

This stall is what I call authentic Nasi Lemak. Nasi is the rice, the quality rice in Basmati bring out the refine texture, the Lemak is the right porportion of fresh coconut milk + pandan leaves give you the refreshing aroma. Yes the Sambal chilli with strips of sotong had me eating more than my share. The next time I want Nasi Lamak I will head for Adam Road and not CV although CV is nearer to my home.

Agree this nasi lemak is much much better than the ones found at Changi Village.

One down factor is the perpetual queue during peak hours that never seems to end :(

The chicken wings are nicely battered and due to the high turnover, it's always hot and fresh. Sedap...

I still miss their lemak before the renovation. After renovation and numerous news reports, I find that the portion has shrunk and the taste is not as good as before.

Did you guys try the nasi pandang next store? Its good too.

I think you should head to the nasi lemak at Blk 511 bedok north st 3 hawker centre.

don quite remember the shop name.. but it is in the centre aile somewhere in the middle.

The rice is always warm and fluffy and the sambal will make you crave for more and more.. give it a try.. it's near tampines anyway...

I'm always confuse, which is no 1? The no 1 or the the no 2 that is no 1? anyway, both looks the same to me. I always go for the shortest queue for the day ;-)
