Teck Kee Hot and Cold Dessert: Lotsa You Tiao Please!

With smart, liverpool1965, iwatch_ueat and tamago

The one thing that I always complain when I eat Tau Suan is the stinginess of the stallowners when it comes to adding the You Tiao.

Not here, this is their standard serving of You Tiao with their Tau Suan for $1. And before some people start saying that there was more You Tiao because the owner saw our big cameras, let me assure you that I saw other customers walking away with just as much You Tiao, PLUS I kept asking the owner if this was the normal serving and he insisted that it was! So not only you suspicious, I also suspicious, OK?

The Tau Suan was good, though the beans could have bit more bite. It was not too sweet which pleased smart but not liverpool1965. Can't please everybody. For me, one of the better Tau Suans around and definitely happy with the amount of You Tiao given. 4/5

The Cheng Tng did not thrill me much. The lotus seed deserves mention though as they were really nice and soft, not the crunchy type that you get sometimes. 3.5/5

Conclusion

You will be happy seeing all the You Tiao on top! And if you don't please write in the comments and let everyone know!

Yes I like my tau suan sweeter, the beans a little bit on the mushy side. Portions are generous though. I prefer the tau suan at the Bendemeer mkt..slightly smaller bowl for 80 cents...must remember to take note of the stall name the next time I visit

This is my favourite stall for Ice Kachang. It is different from most of the run-of-the-mill type where they only use colorful syrups. They make gula melaka into syrup for the ice kachang.

Though it is slightly more expensive than usual at $1.50, it's still value-for-money because the red beans are done just nice, not overcooked and I've never tasted better attap chee.

For those who have a penchant for ice kachang with lots and lots of evaporated milk, request for it and watch them pour loads of it into your ice kachang.

I've also tried their cheng tng before and I agree with ieat that it is not that impressive even though the newspaper article claims so.

Yes I cant eat anything that is too sweet. Tau suan quality is good (not in bits/broken) and so is the You Tiao especially lots of it.

Ooh! I LURVE TAU SUAN!!!

I like mine less sweet with slightly mushy beans...dun mind firm beans but the mountain of you tiao is most tempting... *slurp*

There's a stall in Tampines (the food centre near central, just after the flyover from simei) that sells lotus seeds in "tau suan" form. It's chockful of the stuff and apparently delicious; my parents love it. But it sells out early, by 12pm usually so gotta get to it fast.

Pls do use a pen name instead of 'anonymous' Are you referring to the stall at Block 117? The circular market next to HDB Area Office. If it is yes the old couple stall is very popular!.
