Wing Kee Ipoh Hor Fun: Ipoh is right here in Changi! Changi Village Food Centre Part 1 of 7
With smart, holydrummer and iwatch_ueat
Most people come to Changi Village Hawker Centre to eat the Nasi Lemak. I WAS one of them. But I think I just found a stall which is so Shiok! that I would travel by bus, MRT, bus and bus all the way from Tuas to Changi just to eat it then do the B,B,M&B all the way back and be satisfied. (Actually I live in the East and I have a car, so this is what we call a poetic license OK?)
Now this is a seriously darn enjoyable, tongue tingling, lip smacking experience that is worth the trip to the end of Singapore (Well, when I was young, Changi used to be the uncharted frontier of Singapore). The Hor Fun was really smooth and the chicken cutlet was Crispy on the outside and oh so juicy and savoury on the inside. Combined with that SAUCE, oooohhh that SAUCE... simply shiokadoodledoolicious. Did I mention that this is one special SAUCE? I found out later that, traditional Ipoh hor fun is served with this Chicken Sauce which is made from boiling Old Mother Hens for many many hours! I guess Geriatric Chickens have just got that special Kanna Bee (Special Geriatric Smell)!
Conclusion
This is the real star of Changi Village Hawker Centre and I have been dreaming about when to go back again! 4.6/5

This used to be one of my fav stalls in CV..there is another stall (besides it) which also sells chicken cutlet hor fun. Equally good!! Now I have moved out from East..really missed the food in CV.
Yes I agree that their Hor Fun is great, really thin type and soft on the bite, those you get in Ipoh.Wah lah the pork combine with their special sauce makes the Hor Fun wonderful. This is the first time I try it. Usually I order their wanton mee.Must bring my family the next time.
Sorry it should be chicken cutlet not pork
I absolutely love this chicken cutlet hor fun! The chilli is super shiok (note I do not take chilli normally) and they do not sting on the size of the cutlet. It's very filling for a girl's stomach.
Whenever I am at Changi Village, most of the time, I would order the bak chor mee from Wing Kee Ipoh Hor Fun. Although I have seen recommendations for their cutlet hor fun, it never occurred to me to try it because I don't really like the softness of ipoh hor fun.
Now that you all have said good things about it, I will give it a try on my next visit.
As for nasi lemak, nothing fantastic about them except the queues. International is out of the question for me. I usually choose the stall which has the shortest queue.
This overtakes my personal favourite stall at CV. =)
Pity we missed Charlie's Corner.
I am so glad you wrote about this stall cos THIS IS my fav CV stall... I go there about once a fortnight and I eat the hor fun all the time though there're scores of other stalls around.
I usually order 'zai' horfun, which means it comes with lots of green vege and lotsa lotsa tasty mushrooms. Then I will add a side of the crunchy yummy deep fried wantons complete the meal. *drool*
Great idea Jo. Will do that the next visit.
Darn right on Wing Kee, it's excellent.
I always tell myself to give Amigo a chance but always end up only wanting Wing Kee (cutlet noodle, what else)! Think it must be hard for them to be neighbours.
I can't believe u missed out one important stall at Changi V. It's the one diagonally opposite this stall, nearer to entrance selling sliced fish noodles and fish head cooked a la chili crab style. Its fish soup is out of this world. It's totally different from the usual batang-with-seaweed-and-too-much-MSG that we get everywhere. THIS stall uses thick slices of good quality fish (don't know which though) and the soup is to die for, honestly. After eating, u sweat and pant and puff and will be back for more.
Only thing is the lao ban niang face is quite black and the queue is horrendous under lunch time sweltering heat, but THIS IS the stall that makes one swallow his pride and keep going for more.
I finally got to try this 4.6/5 chicken cutlet hor fun. It was flavoursome but not spicy enough for me. Next time! ..haha. I reached there around 4.30pm but International Nasi Lemak was not-operational....blessing in disguise. For $3, it was really value for money -- the size of the chicken cutlet!!
anyone tried the ipoh hor fun at Mei Ling Street Food Centre?
Good chilli, nicely done chicken and chicken feet..
Thanks for the recommendation Dr Leslie. This one gave me the shiokers man! The chicken was tasty. Though deep fried and crispy on the outside, the chicken meat inside was still tender, juicy and flavoursome. The texture of the hor fun's good too. Delicious gravy. An unexpectedly generous portion for $3.00. Having Amigo and this stall side by side might create some confusion. I was confused and ate Amigo's chicken cutlet hor fun instead the other day. Amigo's chicken cutlet hor fun was not good when I tried it. Fried till almost 'chow tar', hard on the outside, dry and tasteless on the inside.
Think the Ipoh Hor Fun that used to be at Geylang is better than this one. Dunno where its gone to though. Its no longer at Geylang.
It has very nice gravy, gresh shrimps, and even lovely curry noodles
Retsel: I agree.
Sadly, I can't locate it either. It's lost and not yet found.
