Sri Sujana: Nasi Lemak Contender #2 Changi Village Hawker Centre Part 6 of 6
With smart, holydrummer and iwatch_ueat
Sri Sujana is right next to Mizzy's and they are selling the set at $2. As far as I can see, the only difference is that Mizzy's uses a deeper plate.
The rice here has a stronger pandan flavour which I enjoyed. Again the rice would have been so much better if they used a better grade of rice. The chicken wings were fresh out of the wok and tasted great! The chilli was a letdown. It was sort of homogenous, did not have that nice layer of chilli oil on top and tasted as if it had been burnt that day. 3.5/5
Conclusion
There is no perfect Nasi Lemak at Changi Village! We have all tasted International before so we know that the standard of the Nasi Lemak is about the same. The best strategy is to go for the one with the high turnover, especially when it comes to the chicken wings which are all great when taken fresh!

Think there are around 4 stalls including International selling Nasi Lemak. Have tried all the different stalls and find that all about the same.
In the end, I always choose the one that cost 2 bucks and also the shortest queue.
I prefer Mizzy because of the chicken wings, that is if I have to eat Nasi Lemark. When I am at CV I go for the Beef Noodle and now I have another choice the Ipoh Ho Fun.By the way I suggest you take a walk to the seaside after your meal. Very refreshing, same time you can buy the Chinese pancake and eat as you enjoy the breeze. Have a Good Day!
I said before and I'll say it again - as long as it is fresh; high turnover, pipin' hot nasi lemak, anything goes. Nasi Lemak is but Nasi Lemak.
Well if there are any specific criterion, it'd be the chilli, the rice and the chicken wings - which essentially sums up the dish itself hurhur =x.
This is one dish where one will say this version is nice, but the other would beg to differ, and then they'll argue their stand and then come to wonder if it's really worth debating about, then they'll start to wonder if they had actually tasted out any huge difference. Nasi Lemak only lah, alamak! =x
Personally? I prefer the way the chinese do it over at Punggol - now this 'Punggol' is yet another perennial debate worthy of another post or 'essay' (in the words of Les, thanks ah).
But for the record, the only 'Punggol' - I call it 'PNL' for short - I've tasted is in Tanjong Katong. Served 'chap-chai png' (mixed-dishes with rice) style, it offers variety - which I applaud, since Nasi Lemak is a boring dish in its original form - and luckily it maintains a high turnover i.e. freshness, which is damn important for me.
As far as Nasi Lemak goes, this is my all-time favourite. =D
Caution: prices can be quite steep if you choose as much ingredients as I do. So be warned - choose wisely. =D
P.S: Les, while I was looking for the address to include it here, I chanced upon your post in makanforum where you quoted the stall as 'very good nasi lemak'. Perhaps you can set a post and make a recommendation on this one too? (By the way, with regards to the main topic of the post - though it is a dying issue, but I can't agree more)
P.S.S: I still haven't found the address, but it's closed on Thursday and open from 5pm to 2am, if I'm not wrong.
For great nasi lemak, try the no2 store at the Adam Road Food Center...there are actually 2 nasi lemak store...next to each other. The nearest the entrance is ok, but the second from the entrance is special. It is open 24 hours. They use good basmati rice, nicely flavoured.
Try it, and let us know your thoughts.

Hi, i just tried this during lunch. Yes, I looked to ieatishootipost for food ideas :). The Mizzy's Corner had a much longer queue than this one. Generally, I felt that the rice was quite fragrant and the chilli was sweet but not very hot. What I found to be not so satifactory was the chicken wing. The coating of deep-fried flour was really really hard, and although it was still crispy, when I chomped on it my eyes can actually feel the vibrations. Don't think I will return to this one. BTW, the price is now $3.

HI,
Have to try the nasi lemak Haji Maksah in Boon Lay Market, it is open from 9 pm onwards, nice chili and always long queue. Value for money as well. If you asked for additional chili they will give generously. Most popular Nasi lemak in West Zone (Midnight)
