Satay Power Returns @ Al Azhar
Those that have been waiting for Satay Power to make a comeback can rejoice because they can now be found round the clock over at Al-Azhar (Cheong Chin Nam Road)
It was a shame that Zsa Zsa's had to close its doors at Jalan Kayu just when Satay Power was gaining popularity. I am glad to report that the Super Power Chicken@Al-Azhar's is still the same standard. Chunky and juicy with chicken skin for that extra boost of flavour. It is still the best Satay Chicken in Singapore (up to now the bester one is yet to be found!). 4.5/5
I love the atmosphere at Cheong Chin Nam Road. When you are dining at Al-Azhar's you really feel as if you could be in Malaysia. There are several items here that are worthy of mention. First is the Nasi Goreng. There was enough Wok Hei flavour and they use some secret spice that made the rice taste almost like a Yang Zhou Chao Fun! 4/5
Another interesting item is the Gold Coin Prata. Crispy and not too oily, the Golden Coin prata is served with some mutton curry. Novelty aside, the pratas were quite standard. The mutton curry lacked oomph though. 3.5/5
To give yourself that extra Cholesterol/Calorie Boost (Don't try this if you have medical conditions) you can also order their Milo Godzilla. Yes you heard right, not dinosaur, Godzilla. The difference between the Dinosaur and the Godzilla is the addition of Whipped Cream! 4/5
Conclusion
Great atmosphere with several palette pleasers to boot! Well worth a visit when you are looking for a nice place for supper!

You gotta go back there to try the masala thosai... its pretty decent in my opinion
crispy on the outside... not too sourish.
I've been there, they are very generous in their giving for the Milo. Love it!
the satay's nice and juicy, could do with a more spicy satay sauce though. The other item I'll order again is the nasi goreng.
Thumbs up man ieat!! Finally get the chance to eat my all time favourite SuperPower Chicken.
thanks ieat for reviewing this place!! This will be the first stop for my under $5 food safari hunt!!! Thanks!!!!! :D
Hi ieat, this super chicken is good man. I tried many chicken satays before but this one is really different. Exactly as how you said it. Chunky and juicy. My kids love it and they asking me to bring them again now. Thanks once again.

Have try the satay, nothing big deal like other normal shop u can find in singapore.
Had the satay las nite, definitely the best I've had so far...definitely will come back for more...the chicken satay is my favourite!!Satay POWER!!
congrats to the blog.. was a good question posted by blogger wilson loke about the operating license of this satay power because thousands in s'pore use the blog as a refernce guide to good food and with hawker stalls, resturants and coffeeshops, we can see the operating licence displayed, but for suppliers its a different story, has the good doctor visited its official placeof business? for the sake of this blog i hope so as we do not want a repeat of cases where illegal food suppliers get glorified by unsuspecting food blogs...
Will certainly look into it. Are you all interested to see what a Satay Factory looks like? Looks like it may be time for another "How they do it" blog.
after what happened in china where a food factory makes pau with cardboard instead of meat, this blog i guess cannot take chances.... do investigate dr. leslie and make more makan places be discovered for us to enjoy eating...
any news about the visit to the satay factory and its operating license? went to clarke quay and the satay club was a nice dining pleasure
Which satay stall at satay club?
ieat, i think satay club is a restaurant at clarke quay. http://www.kingsatay.com/
next to the arena bar or something. i didnt like it tho. the mutton satay was too dry. so was the beef. chicken satay was so so. the peanut sauce could use a little more kick in it. the prawn satay is not too bad. but not worth the pricetag. ordered the vege dish too, cant remember what..but it's too salty. ordered the sotong (sweet and sour), and it came out like a steamed sotong poured with sweet and sour sauce. pffth.
ordered pina colada, but the coconut was over powering everything else. maybe it was a one off bad 'batch'? dunno. i dont plan to go back there :D
btw, if there really is a satay club with many satay stalls...then pardon the previous comment..(sorry ah)...and do let me know where it's at :D
hey doc, thanks for all the foodie goodies here at yr blog, so whens the visit to this satay power factory?
stay emperor said...
any news about the visit to the satay factory and its operating license? went to clarke quay and the satay club was a nice dining pleasure
any relation to king satay at Clarke Quay :)?
Is Al Azhar closed for renovation or something? Went there for lunch but realise its not opened.
the superpower chicken satay was the best kickass chicken satay ive had in MY life. and this coming from a satay lover. in fact i dont fancy chicken satay. the best grilled meats are red meats so typically i go for mutton and beef for satays. but this one, WHOOOAAAA, the chicken satay blew me! however, on the downside, the mutton and beef satay wasnt too good. because of the big, generous chunks of meat, some parts were not done very well and as a result a lil tough. anyways, thanks guys!
scouraging thru the satay posts looking for a good satay stall which overall serves good chicken, mutton & beef satays. im a mutton & beef satay lover.
sadly, most of the info here are on chicken satays.
anyone can shed some light on stalls tat sells good mutton & beef satays?
thanks!

His factory is at aljunied. I last visited him last year. Saw his factory plus his license. He doesn't have a stall, he supplies a few stalls.
You can write directly to me, introduce yourself and I will tell you.
do you have special satay delivery like for shark meat or fish satay?
